Royal Enfield - leave home
How many of us would have seen an Royal Enfield TVC ,must be a minority count , here is slightly old royal enfield commercial , for their Thunderbird twin spark model ,which thru a slightly convoluted( must say not slightly- highly ) route tries to showcase the growing up of a guy and his urge to get free on seeing a thunderbird .
Enfield needs to shrug off a lot of legacy , get aggressive on its product portfolio redesign and also be able to leverage its strong equity ( it enjoys a cult like status among some some consumers) on "macho "bikes by launching India's harleys.Enfield also has an opportunity to be a strong niche player with higher prices but with low volumes in the bikes market ,maybe that's what thunderbird was planned to do ..not much thunder on the roads though !
Switching back to the TVC , all in all a good piece of execution and our rating for the same is 2.5 /5 , good . go ahead watch the TVC and " leave home " ,its different

Embilical cord as a metaphor is more like a CRM type of AD.But enfield needs to improve its product offerings in order to fend off Harley Davidsons entry into the Macho segment of the market!!
